Before the travel schedules and the showcase tournaments and the college recruitment timelines — there was just the game.

A kid with a bat. A field. A dugout full of teammates. The smell of fresh cut grass and red clay dirt. The ritual of lacing up cleats and taking ground balls until your hands were numb. The unwritten rules that nobody taught you but everybody knew.
